Carlos A. Gracia is Professor at the Departament of Ecology, University of Barcelona and Head of Research Group at the CREAF (Center for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications). His activities are mainly focused on Forest Ecology. Primary production, Water and Carbon balance as well as the ecophysiological responses of Forest Ecosystems to Climate Change are the core of his research work. Is co-author of GOTILWA+, a process-based forest growth simulation model under different management and/or climate change scenarios.
Dr. Gracia has been the Vice-President of the Spanish Society of Terrestrial Ecology (AEET) and member of the Directory Board of the Spanish Society of Forest Science (SECF). Dr Gracia is, at present, a member of the CREAF’s board on behalf the University of Barcelona, is a member of the Group of experts in Climate Change of Catalonia (GECCC) and from the Scientific Advisory Board of the European Forest Institute (EFI) as well as from the Mediterranean Regional Office (EFIMED) of EFI.
