Dr Graham Wise

Dr Graham Wise holds a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Queensland, Australia. Graham is Manager of Research Development for Griffith University, a leading research university in Australia. Graham has built and leads a team of six managers who during 2013, were responsible for building research partnerships to a total value of $150 million.
In 2005 Graham joined the Institute for Glycomics, led by Professor Mark von Itzstein, developer of the world’s first anti-influenza medication, Relenza™. As Business and Operations Manager, Graham was responsible for research and commercial development, underpinning the Institute’s growth to its current 120 biomedical researchers and support staff.
In 2000, Graham built the Centre for Advanced Light Microscopy to create Australia’s largest 3D confocal and multiphoton imaging centre of its time.
In 2013 Graham won an Australia Award – An Endeavour Executive Award for travel to the US to foster best practice in university-industry-government partnerships. This year also, Graham was the Australian delegate at the APEC Research and Technology Symposium. These activities illustrate Graham’s expertise in developing large-scale research initiatives; research internationalisation; models for social and technological innovation; and research collaboration across government, university and industry sectors.
